Saw palmetto is Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens), also known as blue palm, Sabah palm, a precious
medicinal plant of the palm family common in the southeastern United States. The lifespan can reach
500-700 years. It has strong stress resistance, fire resistance, long-term drought resistance,
waterlogging resistance and poor soil resistance. It is distributed from South Carolina to southern
Mississippi and Louisiana to tropical and subtropical coastal sandy plains of Florida and the Gulf of
Mexico. Saw palmetto contains digestible carbohydrates, oils and other nutrients, of which 2/3 of
the oils are free fatty acids, including capric acid, caprylic acid, caproic acid, lauric acid, palmitic acid
and oleic acid.
